Today is the second day of the 2023 Paris Air Show. This is the first time the show has been held since 2019 as it was cancelled in 2021 due to COVID-19.

Here are some key highlights of the second day of the Paris Air Show.
Qantas has finalised its commitment to 9 more A220 aircraft on top of the initial order of 20 it placed last year. These jets are meant as a replacement for its ageing Boeing 717 planes.
Electric aircraft manufacturer Eviation announced it has signed a letter of intent for up to 50 planes with Aerolease, a Miami-based leasing company.
TAAG (Flag CArrier of Angloa) announced another lease agreement with Azorra. This brings TAAG's total commitment for the A220 to 13 including the 6 signed for at the Farnborough Air Show last year.
Philippine Airlines has firmed up its order for 9 A350-1000s.
Boeing has received its first order of the show this year from China Airlines. The airline firmed up its options for 8 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. This means the Taiwanese carrier has 24 Dreamliners on order. 6 of these on order have been converted to the larger 787-10 variant.
Air Algerie has ordered 8 737 MAX aircraft of the -9 variant. The airline has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a pair of 737 converted freighter aircraft.
Irish lessor Avolon has placed a firm order for 40 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
ATR has received 22 orders:
6 ATR 72-600's were ordered by Taiwanese carrier Mandarin Airlines
2 for Berjaya Air in an all-business class configuration
3 72-600's for Azul with 2 options
11 orders from an undisclosed customer.
Embraer has also reached agreements for 32 E2 and E175 aircraft. The deals are with Azorra, American Airlines (for Envoy Air) and Binter.
Air India finalised its order for 470 aircraft.
The carrier will receive, from Airbus:
140 A320neo's
70 A321neo's
6 A350-900's
34 A350-1000's
They will also receive, from Boeing:
190 737 MAX aircraft
20 787's
10 777X's
with options for 50 additional 737 MAX aircraft and 20 787's
